Hi I have a question regarding my 1 year old Buff Orpington. Yesterday afternoon a fox grabbed her and took off with me screaming and running after it. The fox did drop her about 100 feet from the initial grab. My husband initially thought she was dead when he picked her up until she opened her eye and blinked. He handed her off to me so I could look her over. There was absolutely no blood, but she jumped up from laying on her side and took off into the coop. Now she is afraid of us and she is on her roost and will not come down. Any suggestions or advice as to if she will come out of this “state of mind” or anything we can do for her would be greatly appreciated.

I’d like to start adding Oxine to the chickens water and want to confirm the dose. The bottle says 30ml (1 oz) per 30 gallons which would means 1ml per gallo-just confirming!
How is she doing now. In times of shock we recommend keeping her warm and hydrated.
She went out on her own in the outside pen today. She looks like she’s still in shock🥺. Kind of just moving around slowly. I did see her drink. But I have not seen her eat.
You really want to give her some time. Keep a close eye on her. I would have kept her in a few days in a warm place w food and water. Some treats even
I wish I would have known. I would definitely have kept her by herself. We did manage to pick her up and look her over again. There is no bite marks or wounds on her but she is loosing a lot of feathers. I feel so bad for her.
She could also be going into molt being stressed
How is your girl doing?
She passed away sometime yesterday afternoon. She had built herself a nest in the straw and passed. She appeared fine yesterday morning. Came out into the pen in the morning with the rest of the crew. She had been eating and I thought doing fairly good. Maybe something internal or just never recovered from the shock 🥺 Thank you so much for asking💜
