18 month old FCBM rooster looking for a new flock or freezer of his own. He was hatched from a 6-7 dark egg on the scale but is a jerk to people when in the coop/run. He free ranges politely but is over protective of the girls when inside the coop/run. He gets attitude adjustments when I toss him in with my turkeys bc they kick his butt (hence the beat up feathers in his pic). He has spent the last 2.5 months in with the turkeys getting his butt kicked because I got tired of taking a net with me to collect eggs, and fill food/waters in the chicken coop. He looks ragged due to fighting off 11 turkeys. He will feather out stunning again after molt. He does make amazing FCBM babies with my 2 hens and really darkens olive eggs if you were looking for a great offspring for egg color and didn’t mind that he’s an @$$. Otherwise I’m ok with this one going into someone’s freezer.
The 2nd rooster is also 18 months he is a cross between my blue Andalusian hen covered by an black Amerucana rooster last year. Looking for a home not a freezer. He is a great boy and had been scalped in January by another rooster he hatched and grew up with. He’s a sweet sweet boy but not going to make it for my breeding plans next year. Kind to his girls, protective when free ranging from predators. He is sweet to people and while doesn’t want to be caught is easily picked up and an snuggled. He gets along with all the other roosters here except his hatch mate that scalped him. He has not grown feathers back on his head yet but he is fully healed from being scalped. I fully expect him to get them back during fall molt.
Both located in Southbury.
