Out of 9 birds 4 ended up cockrels. Too many boys for my current space and number of hens. The 2 black birds and the gray barred bird are up for grabs. The black birds are olive eggers purchased from Tractor Supply (Hoover's Hatchery) and the barred bird is a Sapphire Gem also purchased from Tractor Supply (I'm thinking he got strong genes from the barred rock.)
They aren't sit on your lap friendly but they all come when you shake a cup of corn. And they will follow the food lady, aka me, around. They have not displayed any aggressive behavior to each other or humans. They are excellent free rangers and are good at putting themselves to bed come dusk. The black and red bird is the most dominate of the group and just started crowing this weekend.
They are between 15-16 weeks old. They were purchased 8/11. They have been outside off heat and free ranging (when we are home) for several months. Please feel free to follow up with any questions.
